((I have a idea, just so I can post more =if you don't mind=. What if Yui somehow makes Dom mad, and Zen starts a fight, trying to protect Yui?))

”Small world.” Dom said softly, more under his breath then anything. He seemed to be watching Kyo with a curiosity that was sparked deep in his grey eyes, but for once, didn’t say anything. There was an obvious tension between Kyo and Shade, and a confrontation couldn’t be too far away. Those were always fun to watch, but he really needed to leave sometime, staying in one place for too long would get him spotted, and that was the last thing he needed; dealing with snitches was dirty work, but not always the most fun out of the job. Besides; he could feel his temper starting to edge back; it was getting harder and harder to keep up a civil face, this had to be the longest he had ever held his temper in check. For a while, it seemed as though the two had forgotten him, but even he felt the ice from Kyo’s words. Keeping himself from either smirking or shaking his head, Dominic dropped his gaze slightly, appearing as though he found this whole thing rather awkward. He was the master of false emotions, and even now, someone who knew him, wouldn’t be able to tell the difference from true awkwardness and his forged one.
Blinking, and raising his gaze once more, Dominic shook his head at her question, though he gave her a knowing smile. Rising up, he made as if to leave, but before he did, he paused by Shade. ”Good luck with him.” He said quietly, shaking his head slightly, auburn hair falling in his eyes slightly. Standing up, Dominic looked at the snow covered street and grimaced slightly; his socks were going to be soaked by the time he finally got home. ”Enjoy your…break.” Dominic said softly, with a slightly amused glance at Shade, before walking out of the store, and into the snow. The white power coated him pretty much instantly, but at least, until he was out of sight, Dominic moved without a complaint, though it must have been cold. Such a good actor could afford a few more moments of stage time; as long as he got his exit. He was going somewhere to take out his emotions though; and before long, he was gone, even his footprints filling in with the falling snow. If he would see Kyo again or not, he didn’t know, but he didn’t care either.
[Failure. And I would Grr; but I can’t do fighting scenes without them sucking. =shrug= And at the moment, Dom wouldn’t risk his self image by fighting, unless they found his hideout, not somewhere where Yui would be allowed to go.]

Shade offered another ghost of a smile to Dominic. "Thanks." She mumbled to him before the tall boy left. She stood there for a moment, before she turned and made her way over to Kyo's table.
"I can talk now." She said to him, standing off to the side, not sitting down at the table. She got the impression that Kyo was upset at her at the moment, which she really couldn't blame him, I mean, she just got up and left without a word, she'd be pretty upset to if she were in his shoes. "I want you to know that I didn't leave because of you. I left because of my own reasons." She told him. She was proud that her voice did not waver, instead, it reamined pretty steady, even though it was soft. The softness was mainly because she did not want the other employees or customers to hear about her personal life, that was her own buisness even if they didn't know her at all.

"Oh really?" Kyo replied when Shade told him that she didn't leave because of him. "So is it just a coincidence that I haven't seen you ever since you 'saw'?" he demanded. He was glaring slightly, but he wasn't angry, just confused as to why she'd leave if it wasn't because of him. "What were your reasons? And why did they prevent me from being able to see you?" he asked. He loved her, and she'd left. Something told him that she still cared about him, and he half believed that. But he still had to know why she would leave.

"I told you, my own reasons." Shade said to him, who had began to throw up emotional walls, but she had to remind herself that this was Kyo that she was talking to, he had told her his deepest secret, and her's probably wasn't as bad. At this point, she sat down across from him at the booth. She sighed and closed her eyes, placing on hand on her brow, hiding her face for a breif moment before she removed and opened her eyes. "... There was someone else that I was getting away from. I had been planning it for a while, before I even met you, Kyo." She said to him. She really didn't want to talk about that man that she lived with. She couldn't even say his name without getting a bitter taste in her mouth.

Kyo watched her with eyes that held an emotion that wasn't quite fathomable. It might represent sadness, or some other emotion. He set his hand on the table when she sat down and put it out just enough for his finger tips to brush hers.
"Okay, so you had to keep away from some other person. Who was it?" His words were slow, as if he were trying to sound calmer, more controlled and not let his temper get the best of him. She was trying to keep away from someone. He wanted to know who it was--or rather, he wanted to know what the person had done to her to make her want to leave so badly that she kept away from even him.

Shade glanced up slightly, but avoided his face with her eyes as much as possible. When the tips of his fingers brushed her's she wasn't sure if she wanted to pull away from him or grab his hand. So instead, she just left her hand resting there.
Bitting her lip at his question, she looked up again at him before her eyes darted down towards her lap again. How could she say his name? And on another though, what might Kyo do if he ever found out this person? He would probably be mad, she knew that much. But then again, what did she know? She hadn't really know Kyo for that long, she felt silly even declaring that she loved him. How could she say that about someone she hardly knew? But she couldn't resist the strong pull that she felt for him, like her soul or something had a wire that connected the two of them. It's like I have a live wire connecting me to you, Kyo. Everytime you're around me I feel like I'm been eletricuted. I question the most basic things, Kyo. And even though you shock me everytime you're near, you're like a drug. I can't get enough of you. Shade thought a bit morbidly to herself. She had to stop thinking about this or she'd NEVER get around to answering his question. "Y-you don't know him." She offered meekly, looking up at him again, catching his silt pupil red eyes with her own green ones. Everything about him.... it was addicting. Instead of high off life or crack, she was high off of Kyo Sohma.
She looked down again and brushed those annoying little strands of black hair out of her face. "It really d-doesn't matter." She said to him.

Kyo watched her, looking dead serious. He was glad when she kept her hand where it was, let him touch her fingers. He hadn't seen her in so long. He almost smiled, but ended up not doing so, just watching her with scarlet, cat-like eyes. He grit his teeth slightly when he didn't tell her who it was. "D**n it, Shade," he said quietly. He sounded frustrated, but not exactly angry. Not with her, at least. "It. Matters. I don't care if you don't think that, but I do. Listen, if someone's bad enough to make you run from them--someone worse than me, then you have to tell me who the d**n b*****d is."
He watched her the entire time, and the hand that wasn't touching Shade's clenched into a fist. It was under the table, hidden from Shade, but she'd be able to tell just how important this was to him by how rigid he'd gone.
He softened his tone just to assure her that he wasn't angry with her. "Shade, tell me who it is. Please." There was a pleading tone to his voice, one that might even surprise Shade, since he hardly ever used a tone like that.

Shade figited a bit from the nerves, taking her other hand and twirling a small strand of hair around her finger over and over again. She bit down on her lip as well, keeping her eyes on the table. Finally, when she mustered up enough gumption to look Kyo in the eyes, she told him to. "My uncle. On my father's side." She told him, keeping her voice low as if he might show up any second now. "He lives with us. My mom my be the one who owns the house, but he's the one in charge, you know?" She said to him. The young girl had finally stopped figiting with her hair. "H-he can't leave, because he pretty much supports us all- money-wise, that is. But he beats us almost every day. He's a sick b*****d, and the worse part is, he knows that." She told him. "Those bruises you saw, they were from him." Shade said. She began to wrap her hair around her finger again. "I left because of him." ((::is shot:

Kyo watched her. In his opinion, it took forever for her to finally look into his eyes, and then speak. When she finally looked up, he let out a sigh of relief he didn't know he was holding and listened intently, looking very much like a cat.
His eyes widened as she explained. Her uncle? He hurt her? The fact that somebody had hurt Shade, that someone had hurt her so much so many times that she wanted to run away infuriated him. Both his hands clenched now, and he was even stiffer than before. He still didn't understand why that would keep her from seeing him, but he forgot about it for now. It didn't matter.
"Shade." He sighed. He had no idea what he was gonna say to her. He could hardly think, what with how much his head spun at the thought that someone would hurt Shade. "Why didn't you tell me?" he finally asked her. "I-I coulda helped," he insisted. He thought of all the ways he could help. They could have turned the b*****d in. He could have helped support them by giving them money. At the very least, he could have helped her hide.

Yui finished her cookie, and asked Zen for another one. He headed her one. When the cookie was half eaten, Yui asked," can I go to the bathroom?" Zen nodded. Yui got up and playfully hopped from one tile to the other. When she got to the waitress, he tugged on her aporn," excuse me, miss, but where is the bathroom?"

Shade felt a bit ashamed, like she should have told Kyo. Now new problems sprouted up in her head. Did he ditrust her now? Did he think that she distrusted him? What is he going to do now? It bothered her that she didn't know any of the answers to the questions, along with many more that were appearing in her head.
"... I don't know what I didn't tell you." She mumbled to him. Shade reach out a little father so that she could place her palm on his clenched fist, trying to get the boy to calm down a bit. "I'm sorry..." She murmured to him. "Don't be mad..." She looked up at him again. "I didn't think that it would help. I didn't want you to be bothered by it."
As the little girl approached, Shade stopped talking. She looked down at the little girl before answering her. "Over there." She said, pointing off to the back of the cafe, off to the right.

Yui looked over to where Shade pointed. "Thank you," Yui exclaimed, giggling like a little kid. She hopped from tile to tile again til she got to the bathroom.

Kyo sighed for what felt like the hundredth time, waiting for the kid that had interrupted to go away. He'd never been one to think kids were cute, but he often saw their innocence and inwardly marveled at it. Little kids were so lucky. Compared to when they were older, no matter how bad their life was, the childhood was always the easiest part. Compared to how it would be for any kid in their high school years, tortured past or not, it seemed that one hardly had a care in the world as kids. Lucky kids.
He looked over at Shade after watching Yui leave for the bathroom. "I'm not mad. Not at you. There's no reason you shouldn't be sorry," he told her. "I just wish you'd understand that there are very few things you couldn't tell me. I'm always willing to know what's going on. Hell, when you left I needed to know why you left, where you'd gone. I'm glad you say it's not 'cause of me." Surprisingly, his lips lifted up just slightly in the beginnings of a smile, which turned into a sort of lopsided smirk as he uncurled his fist and held Shade's hand in his.
"You don't have to tell me things, just the things that you know I'd care about. And this is something you know I would have cared about, Shade. So just... please remember that, int he future," he said, tone confident. His scarlet eyes were smoldering, looking even more cat-like. He glanced up at a clock. Ha, it was well into the school day now. No point in going today. Whatever, he'll make up for it. He gave Shade's dark hand a gentle squeeze.

Shade smiled slightly at Kyo. "I will." She promised him. She felt like her soul had grown wings and flown away from her when he told her that he cared. He cares. He actually cares. She thought, her smile growing bigger. Her small hand fit nicely in Kyo's larger, rougher palm. She squeezed his hand back. "Thank you." She told him. ((::is shot:
