Kyo and Shade had grown close in the last few days. Extremely so. They kissed a couple more times, but not often. Usually he teased her and picked on her, and often got elbowed or punched in return. They were definitely a cute couple.
Today, they were heading over to his house. Yuki would be in a student council meeting, Tohru would probably be at her job. Shigure would be doing... he wasn't sure what. Then Dante would be closed up in his room, no doubt. So, if they just avoided the perverted novelist, they'd be able to hang out in his room and not be disturbed.
As they entered the living room, Kyo pecked Shade on the cheek. He smirked at her, then looked away from her emerald green eyes.
And there was Akito, sitting in a chair, looking like he'd been having a conversation with Shigure, who was sitting in another chair, smiling calmly, though Akito had obviously been irritated. But now there was a cold smirk on Akito's face.
Kyo stepped forward slightly, in a protective stance, though he didn't realize it. He didn't meet his family head's eyes. "Hello, Akito-san," he mumbled, taking on a polite tone that would sound foreign to many who knew him, for he never spoke like that.
"This is beautiful," Akito said lightly, sounding quite friendly aside from the cold eyes. "You've finally found someone that cares about you, Kyo-kun?" Akito paused, then went on as if Kyo had supplied an answer to the rhetorical question. "It's wonderful. Oh, but she does know right? I hope she does. You're not lying to her, are you, Kyo? You're not lying to this girl. Oh, but you are, aren't you? You're hiding the real you from her." Akito sounded almost gleeful. And that scared Kyo. His face drained of all color. He glanced at Shigure, who was just sitting in his arm chair, looking calm as if he were watching a television show.
((Heh. It's fun to play Akito as a jerk. XD))

((XDD))
Shade grinned back at Kyo when he kissed her on the cheek, a bit of pinked blossomed on her cheeks as well. Kyo could be incredibly sweet when he wanted to be. Not that he would ever admit it.
Shade soon found herself looking around Kyo's arm-since she was too short to look over his shoulder- at the thin, small but definately scary man standing infront of Kyo. She slid her hand into Kyo's and glared at Akito. She could tell that she was NOT going to like this man.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Shade spoke up, using her other hand to tuck some of her long, black hair behind one ear. Her emerald gaze stayed unwavering on Akito.

Akito walked a little closer, close enough that he could touch Kyo's face for a moment. He smiled, eyes flashing like a knife catching the light. Kyo wanted to step back, but he felt frozen there as he watched Akito's ocean-like eyes. There was incredible rage there, he could see. He watched as his god's pupils shrunk so small that they were hardly even pinpricks in his eyes.
Akito took Kyo's left hand in both of his, and moved one hand to the bracelet on his wrist. "Let's show her what you really are, my pitiful monster," he said, whispering in Kyo's ear quietly now. Again, Kyo wanted to pull away, but he couldn't. He felt the beads made of bone and dyed by blood slip off his wrist as Akito took them in his bony hand.
Kyo felt the transformation begin. It was painful, and he shook as he sank to his knees and doubled over, wrapping his arms around himself. His hand grew larger and claws appeared. His shirt tore as his body changed. When the transformation was over, he didn't look up, but a growl rumbled in his throat. He was hideous, and the air was filled with the stench of rotting flesh.
Akito covered his mouth and nose with a hand, trying to clear the air he was breathing, smirking the entire time. Then he glanced at Shade, eyes narrowing. Hate glittered in his eyes. "That's who--no, that's /what/ the boy you seem to love so much really is. Disgusting, mm?"
Kyo's growl grew louder.
Shigure still watched, seeming unphased by the scent, not looking amused or upset about it.

Shade looked shocked more then anything. Her hand dropped out of Kyo's and came to her nose. What the H*LL!?! Taking a few steps back with meaning to, her eyes grew wider and her pupils shrank almost in fear. Her boyfriend just turned into a... something! She didn't know what Kyo had turned into. A minute of silence dragged on painfully, Shade was still stunned. A million thoughts went through her head right now.
Shade stopped staring at Kyo and her head snapped over to Akito. "... What did you DO to him!?" Where her first words, her face turning into a deeper glare.
((Shoot me... now... ::Death::..))

Akito laughed quietly, coldly. "I did nothing," he said icily, holding up the beads. "I only removed his disguise so you could see the real him. After all, what kind of relationship would you have if you knew nothing about him? He's a monster. He always has been. This is the form he was born in, after all."
Akito chuckled. "My work here is done, I suppose. Shigure, we will resume our talk later. Kyo, you may want to send this... girl to Hatori after this. I hardly believe she'll want to remember you." With that he walked out the room, tossing the beads over the shoulder as he did so, and left the house. Shigure saw this as his cue to leave, and, well, left.
Kyo grabbed the beads and held them in his clawed hand, slowly changing back to his human form. He slipped the bracelet fully onto his wrist. "D**n b*****," he muttered, pushing himself as he stood up. Luckily his pants hadn't torn. He'd just have to throw his shirt away. He watched Shade, backing away from her, as if he expected her to hurt him or say something cruel to him, like call him a monster.

Shade narrowed her eyes. That a**, saying 'girl' as if she had some sort of desease rather it then just being her gender.
Shade was silent again, it hurt her to see Kyo backing away from her like that. She lowered her eyes to the ground. The silence continued to drag on for the girl, she couldn't seem to find her voice again.
When she finally lifted her eyes to Kyo. "... Why didn't you tell me?"

Kyo half turned away from her. He couldn't meet Shade's eyes. "A lot of reasons," he told her quietly. He almost sounded cold. "First off, it's not my place to tell people. Nobody's s'posed to know. Except our family," he told her. "And then... well, I'm a monster, Shade. Don't you see that? I didn't know how you'd react! My... my mother didn't like it much," he added. "It's not something I can just come out and say."
He fingered his beads as if he expected them to fall off.

Shade almost felt offended. But she really had no room to talk. She had also kept secrets from him. She also felt bad when he half turned away from her, and she crossed her arms loosely, almost as if to protect herself from Kyo's voice that was growing cold.
"I would have told you, if our positions were reversed." She pointed out, lifting one arm away from her body for emphasis almost before letting it cross again. "I would have rather heard it from you then that b***hy little boy." She mumbled the last sentence to herself.

Kyo groaned, then turned to her. "I don't think you would! Not of you were afraid I'd either react badly or something! You wouldn't be as ready to tell me if your mother had killed herself because of you! Would you?!" he snapped without thinking, glaring heatedly at her. Then he let his gaze lower to the ground, away from her green eyes once again, cheeks heating up out of shame.
"Sorry. I-I didn't mean it." He shook his head. "D**n." He rubbed one of his hands over his forehead and eyes, trying to get himself to calm down. "I'm being horrible. S-sorry."
He inhaled deeply, then let out the breath a few seconds later. "I know you probably would have told me. But you don't know the half of it. It's a big family secret, we're not allowed to tell," he explained, trying to speak calmly, though his voice shook. He felt really bad for yelling at her like that. And he hadn't mentioned his mother had killed himself in a long time. It wasn't just his voice that shook. It was his hands, too, as they clenched into fists at his sides.

Shade jumped when Kyo snapped at her and she dropped her arms to her side. Kyo had never yelled at her like that before, this must seriously be upsetting him. He was probably right though, about her not telling him. She didn't tell Kyo the truth about her bruises because she didn't want him to find out about her little family secret. He would get upset too, if he knew what kind of situation she was in. Maybe not as upset as this, Shade figured. Besides, she thought she wasn't the type of person someone got all upset about.
"S'fine." She finally mumbled, also dropped her gaze now. She nervously rubbed one arm. "... So you're whole family turns into... into...." She didn't know what to call what Kyo had turned into. A monster? A demon-being Buhdist she didn't believe into demons, but heck, Kyo just transformed infront of her eyes, she didn't know WHAT to believe at this point.

Kyo sighed. "Most of us just turn into a Zodiac animal. Like... Yuki, he's the rat. And Haru's the ox. But me... I'm a cat. And if you know the legend of the Zodiac, you know that the cat's the reject. Since I'm the cat, I'm a monster." He sounded like he believed it, too--that he was a monster. "There are a few others. Like Dante. Not sure if you know him, though," he said quietly. Dante went to their school, he'd be graduating this year. But Dante was often so quiet, so introverted, that some probably wouldn't know him, despite him being one of the Sohma boys. And all Sohma boys were quite popular.
"Anyway, it's not everyone. Just a few of us that turn into... the true spirit of the cat," he explained to her, never meeting her eyes. He felt bad. He'd underestimated her, too. He thought she wouldn't be able to take it, he thought she would end up either fearing him or pitying him.

Shade nodded once, she had heard of Dante, but never seen or spoken to the boy. She didn't even know he was a Sohma, really.
Shade nodded, taking this all in. Wow... so much.. she felt like her head might blow up or something. This was just way too much. "... How do you turn into those animals? And that didn't look like a cat to me... no offence..." She mumbled, kicking at the floor lightly with her feet.

"When we're hugged by the opposite sex, we change. And then for me... what I turned into is like a demon. It happens when my beads are removed," Kyo explained, holding up her wrist to show her them. "The worst part is that these beads are made of sacrificed human bone and dyed by blood," he added, lowering his arm again. "But they're the only things that keep me in my human form." He sighed.
"Akito-san'll probably want me to take you to Hatori. He probably doesn't want you remembering all this..." he sounded upset, of course.

Shade nodded, remaining silent as Kyo talked. That must suck... never being able to hug somebody. That's why Kyo was so wary to embrace her when they kissed. Now that she knew that, that question she had been meaning to ask him about that, the one that had been nagging in the back of her conscience vanished.
Shade looked back up at Kyo and began to nervously play with her hands. "... What does H-hatori do?" She asked, her eyes growing wide again.

Kyo almost laughed a little bitterly at her nervousness. It almost represented fear. He sighed. "Hatori supresses memories, it's a lot like a sort of hypnotizing thing. His dad taught him. It was actually passed down in his family. But it's not like it hurts. It still sucks, though. Maybe not for the person who loses their memory--at least, not unless they realize something important was erased from their memory," he explained to her. "But, well, you get it." He finally met her eyes again.
